Wine growers since 1850, the Zuazo family built a winery in Oyonesa in 1908. In 1947, Mariano Zuazo , together with Victoriano Gastón and several local winegrowers, founded a cooperative winery for the production of bulk wines for sale. In 1987, the next generation headed by D. Luis Zuazo and 9 winegrowers from the region build Maese Joan, a winery that produces, ages and bottles the wine. Today, Zuazo Gaston wines are recognized and awarded at the most prestigious national and international fairs and competitions.
